Local tip: On Saturday or Sunday, order ahead online before you leave Sunny Retreat, and it should be ready when you get there.

Hawk Knob Cidery and Tasting Room is located amongst the beautiful rolling green hills of Greenbrier County, conveniently located just minutes from downtown Lewisburg. Enjoy the view from the covered patio or cozy up next to our firepit. Indoor seating is also available in the tasting room. The pond is stocked and you’re welcome to drop a line for bass, blue gill, and catfish. They feature a diverse assortment of live music and events throughout the year. In addition to their selection of award-winning hard ciders, we offer a chef-inspired food menu. Fridays are burger nights featuring local beef patties hot off the smoker, and brunch is offered every Sunday. Growlers of their MTN Made series are available to take home along with all of our bottled ciders. Ample parking is available with room for RVs, boats, or trailers. Feel free to bring your children, and leashed dogs are always welcome.

Amy's Market

Serving up 16 varieties of Hershey's Ice Cream stacked just the way you like it, along with a selection of artisan chocolates, fancy and old-fashioned cookies, cupcakes, candies and more.

The breakfast menu from 7-11 a.m. includes biscuits, bagels, and croissant breakfast sandwiches, as well as Belgium waffles with your choice of toppings, from whipped butter and pure maple syrup to sauteed apples and chocolate chips.

From 11am.-3pm enjoy deli-style sandwiches such as egg salad and pimento cheese. For a healthier lunch option, a variety of salads are on the menu, from the classic Cobb salad to bold concoctions featuring strawberries and goat cheese.

For those who are looking for that special occasion dessert... Amy offers custom cakes, pies, plated specialties and bite-sized desserts for catered events.

Amy and her crew have the perfect spot to kick off a fun day or wrap it up in the evening with a milkshake! 

Clay's favorite at breakfast is the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant to go or an omelet if eating there.

Stardust Cafe 

One of favorite spots to grab lunch and a bottle (or 2) of wine! Just a quick 10-minute walk from Sunny Retreat this is the perfect spot for their famous Trust Me Salad or Forever Curried Chicken. Make sure you call ahead for a reservation.

The General Lewis Inn - Thistle Lounge and Dining Room

The PERFECT garden patio for Sunday Brunch or a celebratory dinner. Just a short 10-minute walk from Sunny Retreat (with a slight hill) this is one of our go-tos for that special meal. Be sure to reserve ahead.

Hill & Holler

A great spot for pizza and a cold beer after a day on the trails.  But more than great pizza - our goto is a Loaded Kate's Salad and Smoked Chicken Wings.

Max on Main

Max on Main is a new restaurant venture committed to fresh food, good vibes, and great cocktails. Located in White Sulphur Springs, WV our menu features locally sourced ingredients and that is why we are proud to partner with Angelo’s, Brunetti’s, Mountain Steer, Swift Level Fine Meats, and Mountain Folk Coffee. Although we specialize in made-from-scratch wood-fired pizzas, we also offer a diverse menu of creative small plates, salads, hoagies, pasta dishes, house-cut steaks, and salmon. Sunday’s are for Brunch and our unique spin on biscuits and breakfast items will have you craving for more. Paired with a Mimosa or a Bloody Mary it will start your Sunday off right.

The newly reborn space houses the dining room, bar, and kitchen. Cathedral ceilings and exposed brick offer an industrial feel that is chic and cozy. A 10X10 glass garage door and the addition of the patio merges the indoor and outdoor experience into one.

The bar offers eight taps pouring a variety of domestic and local craft beers, including a unique non-alcoholic root beer crafted just up the road at GBVC. Our beverage menu also features an extensive wine selection, alongside both timeless and contemporary cocktails made with fresh-squeezed juices, house-made syrups, and artisanal spirits.

Good Roads Bakehouse 

Good Roads is a charming, small-batch country bakery located in Frankford, West Virginia. This cozy gem offers a wide variety of freshly baked goods, including pastries, bread, hand pies, quiche and pepperoni rolls.  It might be a little out of the way, but well worth the stop if you are heading north on 219.  Hell, I think it's well worth the drive anytime! 

As you approach the bakehouse, you'll be greeted by a nostalgic coin-operated horse (no rough ridin’), adding to the warm and inviting atmosphere. Inside, you'll find a large display case with as many as 20 different baked offerings, hand-painted decor, western memorabilia, and a small room called the Trade Post--featuring vintage, unique and handmade items.

With its strong community focus and commitment to using local ingredients, Good Roads Bakehouse is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a delicious treat and a taste of small-town charm.

Old Red Mill Taphouse Grille 

Old Red Mill is a cozy, welcoming downtown “cabin” known for its hearty comfort food and impressive selection of craft beverages. It offers an extensive menu of Southern-style fare, including pulled pork and beef brisket from the smoker. Let’s not forget the wood-fired pizzas!

Those who’ve been rave about the shrimp and grits, crispy fried chicken and gourmet burgers. If you want to venture off the menu, the daily dishes are always something special… roasted pork sloppy joe, the Mediterranean salad and jalapeño cornbread encrusted salmon are just a few.

What’s on tap? You’ll find a lineup of local beer, ciders, mead and wine, along with handcrafted cocktails and mocktails.

Don’t miss out… with its warm atmosphere and friendly service, the Old Red Mill has quickly become a favorite gathering place for a great meal.

Mountain Table

Dining at Mountain Table is all about slowing down and savoring something special. The Tuesday supper menu is built entirely from scratch with hours of prep and no shortcuts. There isn’t even a microwave in this kitchen! Expect a fresh lineup each week, from the always-popular Taco Tuesday (more than just tacos) to apps, entrées and desserts inspired by what’s in season… or the kitchen’s latest culinary muse. On Sundays, they serve up a hearty farm-to-buffet brunch including a made-to-order menu and weekly mimosa specials (10 a.m.–2 p.m.). The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, so come as you are, but bring your appetite!

While the food takes center stage at the Rt. 219 restaurant, coffee lovers will appreciate Mountain Table’s small-batch roasts. Choosing organically grown, women-owned, fair-trade coffee bean growers and sustainable packaging, their coffee selection—from beans to compostable pods—is served/sold at local businesses and available online. And if you’re dining at Mountain Table on a Tuesday or Sunday, enjoy complimentary bottomless coffee. Yes, that means all-you-can-drink!
